Ridge Meadows 2010 International Spring Rep Tournament
TOURNAMENT RULES
1. All players and team officials listed on the team rosters must be registered with their respective associations and properly insured for this tournament. The Tournament Organizers, Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association, Planet Ice Arena and Ridge Meadows Arenas, assume no responsibility for injuries caused to game officials, spectators, players or team officials while participating in this tournament.
2. All games are to be played under CHA, BCAHA, and PCAHA rules and regulations.
3. Starting line-up rules will be waived for this tournament.
a) A maximum of 19 players per team, including 2 goaltenders, will be allowed to play in any game
b) Each team manager must have a list of player Mutual Aid numbers and Player Cards in his/her possession and provide it on request of the Tournament Director.
4. A five minute warm-up will be allowed at the start of each game. The game will consist of two 15 minute stop-time periods; ice clean, third period to be 1/2 of remaining time (up to max 20 minutes). A time limit of 1 hour and 45 minutes per game (including warm-up) for all games.
All games will be decided by a shoot-out if tied after regulation time. In order to expedite the shoot-out; each coach is to designate 5 players and their order on the top of scoresheet before each game. The 5 shooters on both teams will alternately attempt to score on the opposing goaltender. If the game is still tied after this shoot-out, the same 5 shooters in the same order will enter a sudden-death shoot-out with each team being allowed an equal number of shots. This will be repeated until a winner is decided. No substitution of goaltender is permitted except for injury.
5. Scoring in the round-robin play will be based on 2 points for a win, 1 1/3 points for a shoot-out win, and 1 point for a shoot-out loss. 0 points will be awarded for a loss in regulation time. Team standings will be determined after the round-robin with ties being resolved by the following tiebreakers as specified below:
a) The winner of the round-robin game between tied teams.
b) Fewest “goals against” amongst only the tied teams. (Games involving teams not in tie breaker will be excluded)
c) Greatest number of “goals for” among tied teams. (Games involving teams not in tie breaker will be excluded)
d) Coin toss if a), b), or c) do not break tie.
In the event of a 3-way tie, if any team(s) are deemed to have a higher standing than the other(s) using b), c), or d), the determination of which of the remaining two teams ranks higher will revert back to comparing the two remaining teams using a)
6. A three person system of officiating will be used for all games.
7. Any player receiving a Match or Gross Misconduct penalty shall be suspended for the remainder of the tournament. Any team official receiving either of the above penalties will also be suspended for the remainder of the tournament.
8. Appeals and Protests: No appeals will be entertained regarding a referee’s decision. Other appeals will be ruled upon as soon as possible by the Tournament Protest Committee. Their decision shall be final.
a) Protests must be filed by team officials at the Arena Tournament Office within 1 hour of the end of the game in question.
b) There will be a $25.00 non-refundable charge to handle each protest.
9. Running time will be applied after a team achieves a five (5) goal lead after the 2nd period and will revert to stop time if the lead falls below five (5) goals.
10. At the discretion of the tournament committee, the ice clean between the 2nd and 3rd period may be waived.
